COVID Terms and Restrictions Before Booking - Click to read

Please read these interim terms and conditions, due to COVID 19 restrictions in regards to an upcoming lesson booking. From July 2020, the lesson length and prices have now been updated to reflect changes that BarkersLearners have taken to ensure the safety of their both students and Driving Instructors. At BarkersLearners we are having to offer a limited number of driving lessons per day, to ensure safety measures to protect both the student and the Driving Instructor. Lessons will now be offered as either 1 ½ hours or 2 hours slots (or longer slots in the case of intensive driving courses).

The terms and conditions below are designed to help reduce the risk of contracting or transmitting the virus while taking driving lessons. Due to the fact that we will be operating in a confined space, used by a number of different people, we are unable to guarantee you will not be infected by COVID-19 during your driving lessons. By undertaking driving lessons with us, you are agreeing to accept full responsibility (except where we are negligent) for any loss, cost or expense you might incur should you contract COVID-19 or pass it on as a result of taking driving lessons with us and will not be able to take any action against BarkersLearners to recover any such loss, cost or expense.

Where there is any conflict between the standard terms and conditions of BarkersLearners, and those listed below, these COVID 19 measures currently take precedence. We therefore request that the following pre-conditions are met:

Nobody from your household has any COVID19 symptoms (e.g. cough, temperature, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell), 7 days prior to or on the day of your booked appointment. Your driving instructor will also run through a number of questions prior to the lesson, as a COVID 19 precaution.
You must take responsibility for washing your hands fully prior to your driving lesson. On arrival to your lesson, you will also be provided by your Driving Instructor with alcohol gel to use on your hands. You will also be supplied by your Driving Instructor with a pair of disposable gloves to wear prior to entering the car, and you will be required to wear these throughout the driving lesson. At the end of the driving lesson, you will be provided with a bin to place the disposable gloves in, once you get out of the car.
Your instructor will be wearing a face covering for the lesson, for your protection. To ensure the Driving Instructor’s protection, it is compulsory that you will also be required to wear a face covering (which you will supply) prior to entering the car, and throughout the driving lesson. You are required to bring and wear your own face covering. Should you turn up for a lesson without a suitable face covering or mask we also reserve the right to postpone the lesson.
Please do not bring any extra objects/items to your driving lesson. You can bring your phone with you provided it is switched off and can be kept on your person.
A window will be kept open for ventilation during the lesson. Prior to every lesson, the Driving Instructor will have fully aired the car, and wiped over contact points e.g. door handles (inside and out), window controls, seat adjusters, steering wheel and steering wheel height adjuster, parking brake, gear lever, indicator and wiper stalks and light controls etc.
PAYMENT FOR LESSONS USING CASH WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED, TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INFECTION. ALL DRIVNING LESSONS MUST BE PAID FOR PRIOR TO THE START OF THE LESSON. THIS WILL BE EITHER BY CARD PAYMENT, OR VIA DIRECT BANK TRANSFER. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO CONFIRM, WHAT FORM OF PAYMENT YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE, SO THAT IN THE CASE OF A DIRECT BANK TRANSFER, YOUR INSTRUCTOR CAN SEND YOU THE BANK DETAILS FOR YOUR PAYMENT TO BE MADE TO.
